11 Exclamations Exclamations (gli esclamativi) express strong emotions such as horror, disgust, delight and admiration. As such, they are particularly a feature of the spoken language. They consist of one or several words and do not need the usual structure of a full sentence to make sense, e.g. How wonderful! What nonsense!
