ABSTRACT
In no other part of perceptanalysis is there such a diversity and divergence of opinion as in that dealing with the shading responses. This holds true not only for the classification of the various types of shading responses but also for the psychological meaning assigned to the shading responses as a group and to their individual varieties. By far the most important reason for this discrepancy is Rorschach’s gradual development of his shading response concept.
