So, such demonstrations provide some limited evidence that we carry out a Fourier analysis of sounds, although something is clearly amiss with the higher harmonics. In Part VI we gain some understanding of why that is so, as well as encountering some phenomena that remain mysterious from the perspective of Fourier analysis (Sections Vl.4-6).
