ABSTRACT

As we discussed in chapters 1 and 2, the studies described in this book assess memory for the content of events that occurred in the lives of our subjects. In many of these studies, event memory was assessed by asking people to provide a memory self-report. That is, people were asked to remember the event cued by the event description recorded in their diaries and to report how well they remembered the event (see the Appendix for the exact form of the self-report measure).
