ABSTRACT

Reaction time is commonly defined as the time elapsing between the onset of a stimulus and the initiation of a response. Actually, time and judgment are the only behavioral variables in cognitive psychology. Some may add concomitant psychophysiological measures, but albeit of great value, they are not behavioral. Time and judgment concur in a choice reaction that always consists of the time taken by a judgment that is classified as either correct or incorrect. In other areas of psychology, such as social or clinical psychology, judgments express opinions or experiences through subjective evaluation, which cannot usually be considered as correct or incorrect.
