ABSTRACT
The surrogate family group is a relatively new approach to group therapy derived from a combination of group therapy and family networking. It is designed and proposed by Lifton, Tavantzis, and Mooney (1979). It places great significance on the contribution of individual differences to the group, which includes children, seniors, single-parent families, and adolescents. It represents a population that one encounters in the real world.
