ABSTRACT
Opiate antagonists are not FDA approved for any psychiatric disorder that does not involve intoxication with opiate drugs. However, used independently, naloxone and naltrexone are remarkably safe medications with few side effects. Therefore, they are acceptable, albeit unproved, for use in child and adolescent psychiatric disorders.
