ABSTRACT
This chapter will try to convey a more precise idea about expressionmeaning. In the first part about ‘descriptive’ meaning, we will consider the relationship between meaning, reference and truth. The second part is concerned with non-descriptive meaning, i.e. parts of the meaning that are relevant on the level of social interaction or for the expression of subjective attitudes and evaluations.
