ABSTRACT

Self-discoveries sometimes occur as discrete insights, arising from a specific, powerful interaction or as a definitive culmination of less conscious previous reflections. More often, however, self-knowledge is acquired through a slow and circuitous process of self-exploration. The manner in which these personal inquiries are undertaken varies. Some analysts are very private about their self-investigations, while others find it beneficial to engage in these endeavors with colleagues, close friends, or a spouse.
