ABSTRACT
in michael’s instance we had two dreams separated by 17 years. Both dreams featured a boy in desperate circumstances, facing violence, needing rescue. In neither dream did a rescuer appear. I have nominated the father as the missing rescuer—in Michael’s dreams, and in the dreams of other adults like him, suffering in one way or another from father hunger.
