ABSTRACT
Some substantial problems with the HAM theory have come to light, and several new issues have been raised. This chapter reviews these problems and issues. They fall under three major categories: representation, learning, and retrieval. One motivation of Anderson's (1976) ACT theory was to address these issues and problems.
