ABSTRACT
What is the final product of an understanding system that has available to it the complete apparatus of scripts, plans, goals, and themes? It is necessary to specify precisely what the final representation for a text would look like after it has been understood. To do this, we must talk about representational issues with respect to each new theoretical entity that we have created. We have hinted in previous chapters about appropriate representations, but here we will treat them systematically.
