Imagination and Recall

Imagination complements memory and even substitutes for it when recall fails (Bartlett, 1932). The study of imagination has suffered eclipse for many years, perhaps because it cannot be studied by objective methods. And any method that even faintly resembles introspection has long been discarded as “mentalistic.”
