ABSTRACT
Early detection is key to subsequent management and ultimately adjustment to breast cancer. A variety of technologies have been developed or adapted for this purpose, each with its own merits and limitations. The development of health care policy with respect to detection problems will also be discussed in this chapter. Decision making with respect to treatment options represents a further extension of the integration of biological and social events and will be reviewed as well. Finally, psychological adaptation to cancer is reviewed.
