ABSTRACT

The skeletal anatomy of the shoulder joint complex is shown in Figure 6.1. The large range of motion of the shoulder is achieved through the interaction of acromioclavicular and sternoclavicular joints of the shoulder girdle and the shoulder joint itself. This means that all scapula movement is accompanied by movement of the shoulder joint.
