ABSTRACT

SUBORDINATE CLAUSES depend on another clause. All parts of the verb come at the end of the subordinate clause.

Complex sentences are sentences which have more than one clause, at least one of which will be a main clause. This chapter explains how complex sentences are constructed in German:

coordination (10.2)

subordination (10.3-10.5)

infinitive clauses (10.6-10.8).
