ABSTRACT
ONE of the ways I managed was by working as a deputy for the sheriff of King County while I was going to college. I'd made up my high school work and graduated in slightly under the year and a half I had anticipated, and with high enough grades so that I had no difficulty in getting accepted at the university. The problem from then on was how to make enough in my spare time to support myself.
