temporarysocietywhichcanbefoundinRousseau'sworksfrom 1750onward,andwhichheneverwithdrew.

2.ItshowsthatRousseau'sjudgmentofc o n t e m p o r a r y man istoalargeextentinagreementwiththeviewsofHobbesand Mandeville,butatthesametimeRousseaustressedthathisidea ofcontemporarymanisbynomeansidenticalwithhisconcept ofthe"natural"man.
