ABSTRACT
Francis Lawrence served as the eighteenth president of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey from October of 1990 until October of 2002. Prior to his appointment, he was academic vice president, provost, and dean of the graduate school at Tulane University. Since stepping down, President Emeritus Lawrence has taught in Rutgers’ Student Leadership Development Institute and is a fellow of the Center for Organizational Development and Leadership.
