ABSTRACT
Although the man on the street persists in attributing certain foibles of the species to "human nature," for many years psychology has tended to cast doubt on the hypothesis that man's behavior is influenced by inherited natural tendencies. Rather, it is argued, man is a collection of learned connections or associations. Man is, in these terms, what he has learned.
