ABSTRACT
This paper is a review of current knowledge and a guide to the literature on the development of spatial cognition. We are interested in how people develop a knowledge of space. First, how do the fundamental concepts of space develop in the child? And, second, how do we come to know and represent in cognition the everyday physical environment?
