ABSTRACT
These investigations were initiated from the well-known fact that we are much less affected emotionally by events taking place at a great distance, than by what happens close by. Although people in the developed countries are nowadays more aware of and more dependent on events in other countries than they were in the past, it will be shown that this statement still seems to remain valid.
