ABSTRACT
As an Armenian of Turkey, I have spent many years speaking and writing about Turkish–Armenian relations. Although I must, to some degree, tailor my words to suit my many and diverse audiences, I have stood firm on two points. The first is the right to take a critical stance with those I address, and the second is not to confuse them. Sadly, my counterparts have often failed to display the same care.
