ABSTRACT

Until today, I have based my writing on the fundamental principles I hold to be true. While honoring my Armenian identity and history, I have stood shoulder to shoulder with Turks in our struggle for a more democratic country. I went beyond the propaganda on 1915, its concepts, and its themes, to claim, in all its nakedness, the great pain that we have, as human beings, carried with us since then. Because for me, history is not just about disputing laws and documents, it is a question of conscience.
