ABSTRACT
By 1975, the disturbances and conflicts on America’s college campuses caused by the Vietnam War were over; the various movements for changes in university procedures and modes of organization demanded by special interest groups were just beginning to gather a full head of steam. Ahead, during the next twenty years, lay challenges leading to a university system very different from that which had existed as recently as 1965.
