ABSTRACT
The legacy of Daniel Burnham endures through his oft-quoted credo, “Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men’s blood.” However, given the complexity of urban and environmental problems facing planners today, Burnham’s motto, reinterpreted for today, might well be “make no little plans; in fact, don’t make any plans at all.”
