Political theology that has responded to the Holocaust and has focused on articulating a valid praxis seems to be both the goal and the foundation of critical theory. From the perspective of political theology, the meaning of praxis, as a technical concept, has become substantially important as scholars have delved into the implications of such systemic evils as the Holocaust. Authentic theology, which would be event driven, is directed to assist humans in developing their full potential as the image of God. The primary goal of valid orthopraxis would be to realize in concrete acts that an ongoing battle against sinful hate and indifference is foundational if a culture is to have prosocial values. Among Christian theologians, Matthew Lamb has best explored the concrete possibilities offered by a theory-praxis relationship. Lamb has asserted that there exists for some a primacy of theory wherein normative human action finds its sustenance in theoretical knowledge.
