That final clause boggles the mind . Was i t really "the spirit" (one of Jung's archetypes) that had seized Jung, or was i t not rather a long delayed adolescent rebellion against the Bible stories on wh ich he had been raised, and particularly against God the Father? That i t was the Father, the Jewish God of the O l d Testament, that provoked this late explosion of Jung's anger becomes plain when Jung turns to consider the New Testament.
