ABSTRACT

In the comparative analysis of the Olduvai and other specimens of Homo habilis, cranial, encephalic and dental features of this species and of other early African and Asian hominids have been tabulated (Tobias, 1988). Such lists of traits have been compiled rather frequently in the last decade, most commonly in cladistic analyses of hominid phylogenetic relationships (e.g., Delson et al , 1977; Ciochon, 1983; Wood, 1984; Stringer, 1984; Kimbel et al., 1984; Skelton et al , 1986; Walker et al., 1986).
