ABSTRACT

While companies want and need more global leaders, in a recent survey we conducted, only 14.3 percent of the firms indicated that they had a comprehensive global leader development system. Recall from Chapter 1 that 82 percent of companies reported to us that they don’t have enough global leaders to meet their needs. In combination this suggests that the global leader talent gap is not going to close quickly. This either represents a great challenge or opportunity, depending on your perspective.
