ABSTRACT

The Palestinian question is the key to permanent peace in the Middle East. This is not a slogan, but an historical fact. The Middle East problem started when the Zionist movement began sending large numbers of Jews to Palestine, displacing the inhabitants and leading to confrontation between the new Jewish settlers, the Palestinians, and the British Mandate forces. After the British departed, the confrontation between Jew and Palestinian led to the intervention of the Arab countries, and there have been four major wars since the formal establishment of the Jewish state. As I write Israel is trying to scorch the final Palestinian presence from Beirut.
