ABSTRACT

A treatment manual should contain a resumé of the theoretical background, treatment methods and an overview of interventions. It should also give clinical examples, indicating how to evaluate and to intervene. For research purposes it is also important to develop scales and measures to check if therapists do what they are supposed to do, and how competently they ‘deliver’ the therapies (Luborsky and Barber, 1993).
