ABSTRACT

As we learned earlier, QLab’s default setting is stereo output unless connected to an external audio device. For basic sound systems, this could be all that you need for functional sound playback. In many situations, though, it is necessary to create directional sound , sending your audio signal to speakers positioned around your audience so the audio has a realistic feel originating from the correct location. Nothing kills the credibility of a sound design like having music from an onstage record player ring out through the house speakers. We all know that the sound should originate from the object that creates the sound. Luckily, with QLab, an audio device with multiple outputs and a few speakers, you can make directional sound with ease.
