ABSTRACT

All around the world people continually start new businesses. This must continue. Some of them are a ‘necessity’ to provide an income for people without jobs, but others have growth potential—if the potential is seized. Only a small proportion of these start-ups will actually grow into something substantial and have a marked impact on people's lives. Those that do are different. Their products and services are different. The would-be entrepreneur who starts the business is different. They also succeed in meeting the growth-cycle challenge.
