ABSTRACT

As we have demonstrated throughout this book, there is a growing body of literature examining parenting in youth sport. However, a major challenge that researchers often face is making connections between research and practice (see Chapter 11 for more discussion of ways to communicate research findings to various audiences). In the current chapter we address some of the applied implications that can be drawn from youth sport parenting research. We look at applied implications from two perspectives: first in terms of parent education types of initiatives and then from family systems approaches.
