ABSTRACT

One of the themes running through this book is that of providing information and ideas for students to conduct ‘publishable’ studies. Around the world people probably spend hundreds, if not thousands, of hours conducting research on parenting in youth sport every year. We hope that our book helps at least some of this research make it into publication. Accordingly, in this final chapter we review some key issues relating to the communication of research. We begin with an overview of the traditional publication process and then go on to consider some aspects of disseminating knowledge to other audiences. We hope this chapter will give budding researchers some insights into how to actually get their work published and, when appropriate, share it with audiences beyond academia.
