The specialists and how they work together

As discussed, primitive buildings take the forms they do through the influence of need, climate and available materials. Largely unspecialised builders worked (and work) to provide the simplest possible shelter, from the prevailing conditions, which can be created using the materials at hand. From Ban Po in China to the Orkneys, and from Minoa to Utah, broadly similar circular shelters were made from whatever materials were available.
