ABSTRACT
Design is not an arbitrary activity. If it is to be practised as a professional occupation it is essential that systematic methods should be adopted. This Part describes an objective approach to building design based upon careful appraisal of the practical requirements, the conditions under which the building is to be constructed and will operate, and the time and financial restraints which apply.
