Generational Cohorts and the Emergence of Generation Y

In this chapter, Generation Y will be defined in relation to other generational cohorts. The underlying model used for doing this is the coming-of-age assumption, which suggests that a generational cohort is defined by the society she grew up in with a strong influence from cataclysmic events that take place before the age of about 23 years.
