ABSTRACT
My whole life has changed as a result of lupus. Social, personal, professional and spiritual. It was most diffi cult to leave my full time teaching position mid-year due to lupus. Learning how to modulate my time [and] energy is a challenge. Facing a fatal illness, not all that is known about, is most diffi cult. At times you don’t look “sick” with lupus and this raises questions. Other times I look so terrible and feel so horrible I can’t leave the house.
