ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses mainly on the conditions for learning that deal with direct, hands-on, 3-dimensional constructions and social interactions, although other conditions for learning—induction, cognitive dissonance, imagination and play, revisiting, and a sense of competence—are integrated with children’s activities in the physical world. Moreover, when you see young children engaging in 3-dimensional constructions and social interaction, you have a chance to assess their cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional competence.
