ABSTRACT

Having a vision for the setting is vital, so that everybody knows why your setting exists and what it aims to achieve. Settings that do not have any sort of vision to work towards are in danger of becoming stale, and therefore not delivering the best possible service for the children. Managers need to be able to hold and develop a vision so that the rest of the team are constantly aware of what their work is about and why it is important to change and develop their practice. Working to achieve a vision improves the service for children, as well as keeping individual team members focused and motivated.
