ABSTRACT
Any attempt to understand the nature of stalking and unwanted pursuit requires an understanding of victim responses to such harassment. Stalkers and obsessive pursuers may be the primary actors in structuring their dramas, and victims may primarily behave in a reactive mode to the unwanted attention, but both patterns of activity are an integral part of the equation of unwanted pursuit. No chess game can be fully understood without considering the countermoves in reaction to the moves.
