ABSTRACT

The preceding chapters do not emphasize technical points with regard to methods of scientific inquiry. Here and there a description is given of the procedure by which an important psychological generalization has been reached, but in the main attention is concentrated on the outcomes of investigations rather than on the procedures. There is one phase of scientific technique, however, which is of such vital concern to all teachers that it must be discussed in some detail. Every teacher should understand something of the way in which psycho logical and educational measurements are made.
