ABSTRACT
Many patients in ICUs develop muscle weakness. This problem, which has been given various names, is increasingly called ICU-acquired weakness, a nebulous term reflecting problems around identifying its cause and making a clinical diagnosis. Peripheral neuropathy may also be a primary pathology. The primary pathology most frequently seen is ICUs is Gullain Barré syndrome.
