ABSTRACT

There has been a considerable amount of research on different aspects of the relationship between home and school. In presenting our own findings in this volume, we have referred to some of these other studies where it seemed relevant to do so. We decided not to add an extended review of the literature, since that task has already been ably accomplished by Anne Sharrock in her Home/School Relations (London, Macmillan, 1970), and by Elizabeth Goodacre in School and Home (Windsor, NFER, 1970). Anne Sharrock's Home and School: A select annotated bibliography (Windsor, NFER, 1971) is a further valuable source of references and comment on home/school links.
