Probation practice – ASPIRE: intervention, evaluation and the challenge of compliance

The last chapter discussed assessment and planning, the first two phases of the ASPIRE cycle, and ended by introducing the Offender Management Model (OMM), the operational architecture of contemporary probation work. In this chapter we consider the implementation of plans that emerge from assessment and the processes of review and evaluation which enable practitioners and offenders to see whether their objectives have been achieved.
