ABSTRACT
This project aims to provide the newly-arrived Year Seven students with a focus and purpose for developing their memory skills in Spanish through the use of a Spanish song competition.The project combines music with language learning and serves to introduce them as a year group to the whole school cohort who are involved in the voting process and selection of the Spanglovision winners.As part of Spanglovision, eachYear Seven group is given a Spanish song to learn as a group,which is then performed, videoed and shown to the rest of the school.With the excitement building and emotions high, the whole school votes for their favourite group, who are presented with the winners’ cup! It is a hugely motivating experience all round that gets the whole ofYear Seven (and everyone else!) singing their hearts out in Spanish just weeks after joining the school.
