ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to illustrate how program theory-driven evaluation science was used to help design, implement, and evaluate a program to understand the rapidly changing nature of work and its effects on the health and well-being of Californians. This chapter is organized to address the three steps of program theory-driven evaluation science:

1. Developing program impact theory. 2. Formulating and prioritizing evaluation questions. 3. Answering evaluation questions.
