ABSTRACT
I have explored the use of program theory-driven evaluation science to improve lives of hundreds of thousands of people living in the state of California. Systematic data were collected, analyzed, disseminated, and used for decision making to support the development of effective programs to improve the productivity and well-being of California workers and their families. These applications of program theory-driven evaluation science were presented in detail to help advance the understanding of the challenges and benefits of using this approach in practice, as well as to provide insights into how to improve the use of evaluation science to develop people, programs, and organizations.
